Jeypore,July 31 UDN}:: Election Observer Mahendra Sadiq Alam, IAS, Assistant Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, appointed by the Election Commission of India to oversee the disposal of claims and objections under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)–2026 of the electoral rolls, visited Koraput district on a two-day tour.
During the visit, the observer inspected the offices of the Koraput Municipality Electoral Registration Officer and the Koraput Block Development Office to review the hearing and disposal process of claims and objections related to the electoral roll revision.
Later, he chaired a review meeting at the DNK Conference Hall in Koraput, attended by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), representatives of recognized political parties, and other election officials. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress and transparency of the claim and objection disposal process.
The observer instructed officials to ensure that all hearings are conducted in a fair, transparent, impartial, and time-bound manner. He also emphasized maintaining transparency throughout the process and working in coordination with all political parties to ensure the smooth and credible conduct of the electoral roll revision exercise.
