Comprehensive Bhim Bhoi Disability Empowerment Camp Held at Banamaliput to Enhance Accessibility, Inclusion, and Social Welfare for Persons with Disabilities

Jeypore,July 31 UDN}:  The Bhim Bhoi Disability Empowerment Camp was organized by the Lamtaput Block Administration at Niali High School under Banamaliput Gram Panchayat in Koraput district.
The primary objective of the camp was to identify persons with disabilities, issue disability certificates, and facilitate their inclusion in various government welfare schemes and services. A total of 129 persons with disabilities were registered during the camp.
The beneficiaries included:
47 with orthopedic disabilities,
13 with visual impairments,
17 with hearing and speech impairments,
24 with mental health conditions, and
28 with sickle cell disease and other disabilities.
Specialist doctors from Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College, Koraput, and the District Headquarters Hospital, Koraput/Jeypore, examined the beneficiaries and approved disability certificates for eligible applicants. In addition, five beneficiaries were provided with various assistive devices.
The camp was attended by Lamtaput Block Chairman Tapas Kumar Chalan, Zilla Parishad Member Purna Chandra Pangi, Banamaliput Sarpanch Gora Jani, Samiti Member Jagannath Hantal, representatives from Peta Gram Panchayat, and several other public representatives.
Other officials present included Additional Block Education Officer Khristadan Suna, CDPO Indumati Pani Grahi, OPEO Razia Bibi, and other departmental officers.
The camp was organized under the leadership of Lamtaput Block Development Officer Jayanta Kumar Meher, with support from Additional BDO Nilam Manasi Bhatra, Block Social Security Officer Surendra Kumar Gudiya, Niali High School Headmaster Santosh Tripathy, Junior Assistant Jagannath Nayak, Junior Teacher Jagannath Khemundu, Programme Assistant Shiva Khemundu, and other officials of the Block Office.
The Lamtaput Community Health Centre also provided free medicines for various ailments to the persons with disabilities and senior citizens attending the camp. Volunteers from Spread and Ashakiran Society assisted the beneficiaries during medical examinations and registration, ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.
