Cuttack, Aug 1 (UDN): The Mahanadi River at Mundali in Odisha’s Cuttack district has shown a decline in water level, bringing relief to nearby communities after days of close monitoring due to increased river flow.
Officials said the river is now flowing below the danger mark at Mundali, with water discharge recorded at around 7.18 lakh cusecs on Saturday. Authorities continue to keep a close watch on the situation as further rainfall and upstream water inflows may influence river levels.
The falling water level has eased concerns among residents living near the riverbanks, allowing normal activities to gradually resume. However, people in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated on official information.
Officials are monitoring rainfall conditions, reservoir releases, and downstream flow patterns to ensure timely response and effective flood management.
