Bhubaneswar, Aug 6 [UDN}:Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted an aerial survey today to assess the flood situation across the state. During the inspection, he reviewed the flood-affected regions spanning more than 12 blocks across five districts.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) during the aerial assessment.
Addressing a press conference after the survey, the Chief Minister stated that the government’s timely intervention, advance preparedness, and prompt response played a crucial role in preventing large-scale loss of life and property. He emphasized that proactive measures taken by the administration significantly reduced the impact of the floods.
He further informed that more than 2.68 lakh people had remained surrounded by floodwaters during the crisis, and the state government continued to monitor the situation closely while ensuring relief, rescue, and rehabilitation measures for the affected population.
