Jeypore: Aug 7 [UDN}:The Independence Day celebration in Jeypore will not be organised at the traditional Dashahara Ground this year. Instead, the national event will be conducted on the main road of the town.
A preparatory meeting regarding the celebration of the Independence Day 2026 was held at the District Collector’s Conference Hall, Jeypore, on August 4. During the meeting, the Sub-Collector informed that necessary arrangements are being made to organise the programme on the main road instead of the Dashahara Ground.
Officials discussed various aspects including venue arrangements, security measures, parade preparations, cultural programmes, cleanliness, traffic management and other necessary facilities for the smooth conduct of the Independence Day celebration.
The administration has started preparations to ensure that the 80th Independence Day celebration in Jeypore is organised in a grand and orderly manner with active participation from government departments and the public.
