Dr. Padhi Directs Authorities to Expedite Remaining Land Acquisition and Ensure Hassle-Free Land Transfer, Prioritising Public Interest and Speedy Project Execution

Bhubaneswar,  Aug 25 [UDN}: Revenue Secretary Dr. Padhi has emphasized the need to expedite the acquisition of the remaining land and ensure a smooth, obstruction-free transfer of land in order to facilitate the speedy implementation of the project, keeping the interests of the general public as the top priority.
It is worth mentioning that this 149.78-km-long railway project was approved in 2003–04. The total land requirement for the project is 2,144.028 acres, of which 1,868.357 acres have already been acquired, while 275.671 acres remain to be acquired.
The remaining land includes 202.15 acres of private land, 13.7 acres of forest land, and 59.821 acres of government land. The Stage-I Forest Clearance process for the forest land is currently underway, while the approval and alienation process for the government land is also in progress.
The project passes through Angul district, with the authorities focusing on resolving the pending land-related issues at the earliest so that construction and other project activities can proceed without further delays. The administration has stressed coordinated action among the concerned departments to ensure timely land acquisition and a seamless handover of the required land, ultimately serving the public interest.
