Bhubaneswar, Aug 25 [UDN}:The Second National Garima Conference 2026 has been inaugurated with a commitment to achieving zero fatalities in sanitation work. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, who attended the event as the Chief Guest, emphasized the need to give top priority to the safety, dignity, and welfare of sanitation workers, while highlighting the importance of their invaluable humanitarian service to society.
The conference underlines the government’s commitment to transforming sanitation work into a safer, more dignified, and technology-driven profession. The adoption of modern machinery and advanced equipment, introduction of innovative skills and practices, and implementation of comprehensive safety protocols are being emphasized to reduce the risks faced by sanitation workers.
