Rath Breaking Ritual Begins in Puri, Dismantling of Lord Jagannath’s Chariot and Other Raths Gets Underway

Puri, Aug 28 [UDN}:  The dismantling of the chariots has begun in Puri from today. As per the directions of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, the Bhoi servitors started the chariot-breaking work.
After the Bhoi Sardar performed the Anukula ritual, the dismantling process began with the Kalasa. This was followed by the removal of the Parabhadi, and subsequently the Dwarabedha. The remaining parts of the chariots will be dismantled in stages.
The process has begun with Goddess Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot. This will be followed by Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariot, and finally, Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosha chariot will be dismantled.
