Bhubaneswar, Aug 31 [UDN}:The Centre is reportedly planning major amendments to vehicle headlight and high-beam regulations to reduce road accidents and improve safety during night driving.
Under the proposed changes, the intensity of headlights on vehicles ranging from two-wheelers to cars may be reduced. In addition, vehicles using high beams unnecessarily within city limits could trigger an alarm, discouraging improper use of bright headlights.
The move is aimed at preventing glare-related visibility problems for oncoming drivers and making night-time travel safer on roads.
