Rayagada, Sept 11 [UDN}: During her visit to Rayagada district, Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Chairperson Babita Patra attended a district-level review meeting and held detailed discussions with the District Collector, Additional District Collector, and officials from various departments regarding child safety, protection of children’s rights, and their overall development.
She emphasized that providing children with a safe, healthy, and rights-based environment is a shared responsibility of everyone. She advised officials to adopt more coordinated and effective measures to protect child rights and address serious issues such as child abuse, child marriage, child labour, and child trafficking.
The meeting focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination, improving child protection mechanisms, and ensuring that every child receives the care, protection, opportunities, and support necessary to grow and develop in a secure and dignified environment.
