Bhawanipatna: Sept 15 [UDN}:Odisha Health and Family Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling undertook a one-day visit to Kalahandi district and reviewed the overall healthcare system and the functioning of various public health centres in the district.
During his visit, the Minister chaired a review meeting on healthcare services at the conference hall of the District Headquarters Hospital. He focused particularly on measures to reduce maternal and child mortality, eliminate anaemia, and strengthen efforts towards building a TB-free India.
The Minister directed officials to take effective steps to further improve healthcare facilities and ensure that people receive quality medical services. He also informed that the medical college in Kalahandi will be shifted to a new building within the next four months. In addition, a blood separation unit will be made operational at the medical college soon, which is expected to strengthen blood-related healthcare services in the district.
The review meeting was attended by Dharamgarh MLA Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi, District Collector Pawar Sachin Prakash, Additional District Magistrate Tanmay Kumar Darban, District Health Officer Harekrushna Satapathy, and several other district-level officials.
₹5th Instalment of CM-KISAN Assistance Reaches 1.68 Lakh Farmers in Kalahandi
Later, on the occasion of Janmashtami, Minister Mukesh Mahaling attended the CM-KISAN scheme programme organised by the State Government at the Town Hall in Bhawanipatna.
During the programme, financial assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme was provided to 1,68,862 farmers in Kalahandi district. The assistance was transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The State Government has provided the assistance with the objective of strengthening farmers financially and promoting the development of the agricultural sector.
According to the Minister, a total of 41,49,227 farmers across Odisha have received the fifth instalment under the CM-KISAN scheme. In Kalahandi district alone, 1,68,862 farmers and 388 landless farmers have benefited from the scheme.
The CM-KISAN programme was attended by Dharamgarh MLA Sudhir Ranjan Pattjoshi, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Pushpendra Singh Deo, District Collector Pawar Sachin Prakash, Additional District Magistrate Tanmay Darban, Agriculture Officer Ajit Kumar Mahapatra, several district-level officials, BJP functionaries, farmers and members of the general public.
Following the disbursement of CM-KISAN assistance to farmers in Kalahandi on the occasion of Janmashtami, considerable enthusiasm was witnessed among the farming community.
