Bhubaneswar, Sept 18 [UDN}:The resignation of Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has now been formally accepted by the Central Government, bringing the process of his exit from the Indian Police Service to its final stage. The Odisha Government had earlier accepted his resignation and forwarded its recommendation along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for final approval.
Jagmohan Meena had submitted his resignation from the All India Services citing personal reasons. He had said that the decision was taken after discussions with his family and friends and requested that his privacy be respected. He also clarified that the decision was not influenced by any external pressure.
Meena took charge as DCP, Bhubaneswar, in 2025 and had earlier served as SP in Malkangiri, Angul and Ganjam, besides serving as DCP of Cuttack. His resignation marks the conclusion of nearly 13 years of service in the IPS.
The latest development confirms that the resignation process, which had first been reported in July and subsequently cleared by the Odisha Government, has now received the required approval from the Centre.
