Koraput, Sept 23 [UDN}:All schools and Higher Secondary schools across Koraput district will remain closed on September 23 and 24 in view of the Red Warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and concerns over the safety of students amid the forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Koraput District Collector has issued an official directive ordering the closure of educational institutions for the two days as a precautionary measure. The decision has been taken considering the possibility of adverse weather conditions and associated risks caused by intense rainfall.
However, the closure applies to students only. All teachers, lecturers and other school staff have been instructed to remain present at their respective institutions during the two-day period.
The district administration has urged all concerned to remain alert and follow safety advisories in view of the prevailing weather situation.
