JaleswSept 29 [UDN}:: A blood donation camp was organised by the Utkal Janani Seva Sangathan of Gobardhanpur village under Kotsahi Gram Panchayat in Jaleswar block. The camp was held at the residence of Gunakar Jena with the cooperation of Sambad-Ama Odisha and the Balasore District Blood Donors’ Association.
Sipra Bajpayee, Director of the Government of India’s Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) and Odisha BJP vice-president, attended the programme as the chief guest and inaugurated the camp. Addressing the gathering, she urged all healthy and eligible individuals to donate blood regularly and contribute to saving lives.
District Blood Donors’ Association president Kamal Chakraborty attended as another guest. Women’s leader Alaka Jena, Satyashobhna Mishra, Nandita Das Mahapatra, Chandan Kar, Samar Karan, Ananda Bhakta, Tapas Patra, Basudev Bhoi, Rabindra Patra, Ganesh Jena, Satyanath Das and Gagan Bihari Sahu were among others present at the event and encouraged the blood donors.
Staff from the Balasore Blood Centre collected blood from the donors. The camp was organised under the supervision of Utkal Janani Seva Sangathan president Hemant Jena, with a total of 57 units of blood collected.
Prabhakar Nath, Satyasadhan Nath, Jitanshu Nath, Pradip Nath, Anil Nath, Ganesh Chandra Jena, Chinmay Nath, Chandan Nath, Dilip Jena, Prafulla Jena, Rakesh Jena, Tapas Nath, Sarat Nath, Jagat Jyoti Jena, Amit Nath, Ganesh Nath, Jitu Jena, Umesh Jena, Satyanath Das, Satyabrata Panda, Rajkumar Nath, Gaurav Barik, Sambad North Balasore representative Satyabrata Pradhan and Ama Odisha coordinator Laxmidhar Barik, along with office-bearers of both organisations, assisted in conducting the camp.
