Belaguntha, Sept 29 [UDN}:: The Srimad Bhagabat Janma and Indra Utsav were celebrated with spiritual fervour at the Satyashree Old Age Home, located near the Tanarada Gaushala Square in Belaguntha, Ganjam district. The programme was organised by the Satyashree Seva Trust with the participation of devotees associated with the Sri Anukul Chandra Satsang from Bhanjanagar and Belaguntha.
As part of the celebrations, several devotional and spiritual programmes, including bhajan and kirtan, were organised. A homa and yajna was also performed under the guidance of Pandit Jayakrishna Mishra. Ranjan Kumar Mallik and his wife Mamata Lenka served as the principal participants in the religious rituals.
A number of distinguished guests and intellectuals attended the programme and spoke about the spiritual significance and teachings of the Srimad Bhagabat. Among those present were retired college principal Shivaram Panda, Krutibas Biswal, Dr Purnachandra Tripathi, Usha Padhi, Prafulla Chandra Patnaik, Bipracharan Rout, Binod Kumar Panigrahi, Rabindranath Rath and Shulapani Satapathy.
Teacher Dipansuprabha Devi presented devotional songs during the event, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the celebration.
A special felicitation programme was also organised to honour three inmates of the Satyashree Old Age Home — Manjulata Padhi, Indumati Panda and Dambarudhar Kar — who had participated in the reading of the Bhagabat throughout the year. They were felicitated by guests Shivaram Panda, Prafulla Kumar Patnaik and Usha Padhi in recognition of their sustained spiritual engagement and dedication to Bhagabat recitation.
The event also witnessed the participation of several members of the Ghumusar Senior Citizens’ Forum, including its president Somanath Nayak and secretary Rabinarayan Samanu. Senior educationist Pabitra Mohan Satapathy, along with Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Rabindranath Panigrahi, Mal Goud, Ashok Kumar Panda and Kailash Chandra Patra, among others, attended the gathering.
A large number of scholars, intellectuals, senior citizens, devotees and well-wishers also joined the celebration, making the occasion a significant spiritual and community gathering at the old age home.
The programme was coordinated by institution manager Rabindra Kumar Patra, while members Ranjan Mallik, Bishwambhar Patra, Amulya Swain and Pabitra Mohan Satapathy assisted in its overall management and conduct.
