12th December 2024: FIFA has confirmed that the 2027 Women’s World Cup will take place in Brazil from June 24 to July 25. This will be the first time the tournament is held in South America. A total of 32 teams are expected to participate, with Brazil automatically qualifying as the host nation.
The competition will see 11 spots allocated to teams from UEFA, six from AFC, four each from CAF and CONCACAF, and one from OFC. The remaining spots will be decided through playoffs.
Spain, the reigning champions from the 2023 Women’s World Cup, will be defending their title. FIFA plans to announce the official host cities and stadiums for the 2027 event next year, after receiving 12 bids for the tournament.
