1st January 2025: Odisha will host the ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’ on January 28-29, aimed at attracting significant domestic and international investments. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, also the Finance Minister, had outlined a target of ₹2.5 trillion in domestic investments and over $2 billion in foreign direct investments (FDI) by 2029.
Singapore will be the first country partner for the event, with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam scheduled to visit Odisha during his India tour. Other countries, including Japan and Germany, have been invited to participate, with representatives from 34 nations expected to attend.
The CM highlighted Odisha’s strategic location, rich mineral resources, and skilled workforce, positioning the state as an attractive investment destination. The event aims to strengthen Odisha’s position in India’s industrial landscape and attract investments in various sectors.
