According to police officials, three rounds were fired at the 36-year-old actor’s vehicle as he was leaving a playground where he had attended a football practice session. Shroff remained safe, while his injured driver was rushed to Nanavati Hospital for medical treatment. Some other people in the area, including an autorickshaw driver, were also reportedly injured in the incident.

The gunfire sparked panic in the locality, with people rushing to safety after hearing the shots. Police personnel quickly cordoned off the area and called in a forensic team to collect evidence. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and working to identify those responsible.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone II, Mohit Garg, confirmed that three rounds had been fired at the actor’s car. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar contacted Shroff’s family to enquire about his condition. The actor’s father, veteran Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, later reassured the media that his son was safe.

Suspected Gang Connection Under Investigation

Hours after the shooting, a video began circulating on social media in which a man identifying himself as Anil Pandit and claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly took responsibility for the attack. The individual reportedly described the firing as a warning to Tiger Shroff to stop working with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.

However, police had not officially confirmed any connection between the shooting and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang at the time of reporting. The authenticity of the circulating video and the identity of the person making the claim also remain matters requiring verification.

The alleged threat has drawn attention to the long-standing tensions surrounding Salman Khan, who has faced threats attributed to the Bishnoi gang over the 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The case has particular significance for the Bishnoi community, which considers the blackbuck sacred and places great importance on wildlife protection.

Bollywood Security Concerns Resurface

The shooting has once again raised concerns over the safety of prominent personalities in Mumbai’s entertainment industry. The incident also brings back memories of the October 2024 killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra East. Suspected members of the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for that murder, citing Siddique’s association with Salman Khan, according to reports at the time.

The latest incident is likely to intensify calls for stronger security measures for film personalities, particularly those who may be facing threats.

For now, Tiger Shroff is reported to be safe, while the injured driver receives medical attention. Police are expected to investigate the shooting, examine forensic evidence and verify the claims circulating online as they work to establish the motive behind the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.
