Odisha’s Budget for 2025-26: Focus on Development and Progress

17th February 2025: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will present Odisha’s budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 today in the state assembly. The government aims to steer Odisha towards becoming a fully developed state by 2036. The upcoming budget is expected to focus on funding key sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture to drive economic growth.

A significant focus will be on welfare initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana, which targets the expansion of social welfare programs across the state. The budget is likely to allocate additional resources for farmer support, social security benefits, healthcare services, and infrastructure development, including improvements to roads, water supply, and urban transport systems.

The state budget is also anticipated to address inflation concerns, with potential measures to control prices and stabilize the economy. Moreover, the budget is expected to support industrial development, including the creation of IT parks and the establishment of industrial corridors, to enhance Odisha’s economic landscape.
