18th November 2024: Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi recently visited Singapore to strengthen the state’s investment ties and promote sustainable development. The trip focused on attracting international investment in renewable energy and agriculture, key sectors for Odisha’s growth.

During the visit, CM Majhi met with Mr. Wong Kim Yin, CEO of Sembcorp Industries, at the company’s headquarters in Singapore. The discussions centered around Sembcorp’s upcoming Green Ammonia Project in Odisha, which aligns with the state’s renewable energy goals. The project is set to play a vital role in Odisha’s transition to clean energy, with further renewable initiatives planned across India.

The Chief Minister also had a productive meeting with Mr. Rabin Jhunjhunwala, Chairman of Orind Singapore Pte Ltd, who expressed interest in investing in Odisha’s bio-fertilizer sector. CM Patnaik invited Mr. Jhunjhunwala to set up a bio-fertilizer facility in Odisha and assured full support from the state government to facilitate the project’s success.
The visit highlights Odisha’s commitment to sustainable development and its efforts to attract investment in key sectors like green energy and agriculture. CM Majhi ’s engagement with global industry leaders positions Odisha as a key destination for future-focused investments.
