Koppal, Sept 23: Mukand Sumi Special Steel Limited, a manufacturer of special and alloy steel products, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Roofsol Energy Pvt. Ltd. for the development of a 3.7 MWp OPEX-based solar power project at Koppal, Karnataka.
The project is part of MSSSL’s ongoing efforts to integrate renewable energy into its manufacturing operations and strengthen its focus on resource-efficient and sustainable production. The OPEX-based model will enable MSSSL to access solar power without making the project’s upfront capital investment, supporting the company’s approach towards adopting cleaner energy solutions in a commercially viable manner.
The partnership is aligned with MSSSL’s broader sustainability agenda, which places emphasis on improving resource efficiency, adopting cleaner technologies and reducing the environmental impact associated with its operations. As a special and alloy steel manufacturer serving the automotive and engineering sectors, MSSSL continues to explore opportunities to make its manufacturing processes more sustainable while maintaining its focus on quality, reliability and operational excellence.

The solar project will be developed under an Operating Expenditure model, under which the renewable-energy asset is developed and operated by the project partner, while the industrial customer purchases the generated power under agreed contractual terms.
