Odisha Tourism Hosts ‘Tourism Odyssey’ Event at WTM London to Strengthen Global Ties
Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: Odisha Tourism organized a special event titled ‘Tourism Odyssey: Strengthening Ties with Diaspora and Industry Leaders’ on the final day of the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. The event aimed to enhance global awareness of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the vital role of the Indian diaspora in promoting the state’s art, culture, language, and tourism. She also outlined the Odisha government’s investor-friendly policies, designed to attract both domestic and international investments in the tourism sector.

The session served as a platform to invite the diaspora and industry leaders to collaborate with the state government on initiatives to further develop and promote Odisha’s tourism. Parida emphasized the state’s efforts to create new opportunities and strengthen its position in the global tourism market.
In addition to the session, two roundtable meetings were held with leading business groups and prospective investors to foster partnerships and attract investments in the state’s tourism industry.
Deputy chief minister Smt. Pravati Parida also extended an invitation to the Indian diaspora to visit Odisha during the upcoming 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas scheduled from January 8 to 10, 2025, offering an opportunity to reconnect with their roots and experience the state’s cultural heritage.
The Odisha Tourism delegation, which participated in the WTM London from November 5 to 7, engaged with top tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs), and tourism investors to promote Odisha as a premier tourism destination. The Odisha pavilion at the event featured immersive displays showcasing the state’s unique cultural and tourism offerings.
