WSC Hosts 4th Graduation Ceremony, Launches New Skill Development Initiatives

Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: The World Skill Center (WSC) in Bhubaneswar held its fourth graduation ceremony on Monday, celebrating the achievements of students from the 2023-24 batch. The event was attended by Industries and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister, Sampad Chandra Swain, who was the chief guest.

During the ceremony, Minister Swain inaugurated the Center of Excellence in Welding, a new initiative aimed at enhancing advanced welding skills. He also launched the ‘Nano Unicorn’ program, which will provide seed capital of Rs 1 lakh to aspiring entrepreneurs at the grassroots level to help them establish their ventures.

Swain emphasized the importance of skill development in empowering Odisha’s youth and aligning with the state’s “Skilled in Odisha” vision. He noted that the new initiatives would not only boost technical proficiency but also foster entrepreneurship among the youth.

The ceremony also recognized the top performers from the School of Engineering and School of Services, who were awarded the ‘Best Trainee’ title. Minister Swain congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to use their skills to contribute to the state’s growth and development.
