
1st April 2025: Dr. Pratima Sahu, a distinguished educator and researcher, hails from the remote village of Lakshmipur in Koraput. Her journey, which began in a local government school, has taken her to the forefront of educational innovation and research. Currently serving as a senior education consultant with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in New Delhi, Dr. Sahu is a role model for many young women, particularly from rural backgrounds.
Her dedication to improving education led her to visit 129 schools across Koraput’s rural areas, gathering valuable data from students, parents, and teachers to address the region’s educational challenges. After completing her postgraduate studies, Dr. Sahu began her career as a Sociology lecturer at Lakshmipur College and later took up teaching roles at Vikram Dev University and IGNOU.
Today, as an expert in multilingual education, Dr. Sahu continues to contribute significantly to educational policy and research, working on projects aimed at providing quality education to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Her success has become a source of immense pride for her family and community, inspiring others in Koraput to dream big and pursue their goals. Dr. Sahu’s journey proves that with hard work and determination, even those from the most remote and underserved areas can reach great heights in education.
