New Delhi, April 1st: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted above-average temperatures across India from April to June, with an increased number of heatwave days in central, eastern, and northwestern parts of the country. States like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal are likely to experience two to four more heatwave days than usual.
While most areas will see higher-than-normal maximum temperatures, some southern and northwestern regions may remain within normal temperature ranges. Additionally, normal rainfall is expected for April, though the IMD cautioned about potential landslides in Kerala and Karnataka and possible flooding in northeastern states.
Citizens are advised to take precautions as the country braces for this extreme weather.
