Jharsuguda:July 20 [UDN}: In a major step towards strengthening educational infrastructure in the district, a high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan. The meeting reviewed the proposed institutional infrastructure projects to be implemented with financial support from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF).
The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Bishwaranjan Nayak, the Chief Executive Officer of DMF, senior officials of the DMF team, and representatives of the implementing agency, Engineers Projects India Limited (EPIL), including senior managers and engineers.
During the meeting, the EPIL team presented detailed architectural designs, project layouts, and estimated costs for three major hostel projects proposed in the district.
The proposed projects include:
Construction of a 100-bed girls’ hostel at the Government ITI campus in Jharsuguda at an estimated cost of ₹11 crore.
Construction of a 200-bed boys’ hostel at the same Government ITI campus at a cost of ₹15.35 crore.
Construction of a 200-bed girls’ hostel at Mahima College, Bijapali, Panchgaon, under Lakhanpur Block, with an estimated investment of ₹12 crore.
After reviewing the presentations, District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan issued several directions to the implementing agency. He emphasized incorporating modern and innovative architectural designs while ensuring that the entire campus is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly.
The Collector also instructed officials to give the highest priority to safety by equipping all hostels with adequate fire protection systems and emergency exit facilities, ensuring a secure and student-friendly residential environment.
The projects are expected to significantly improve hostel accommodation and educational infrastructure for students in Jharsuguda district.
