Kalapreet 2024: A Vibrant Cultural Celebration at DPS Kalinga

Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: DPS Kalinga hosted a two-day cultural extravaganza, Kalapreet 2024, on November 19 and 20, bringing together students, teachers, and guests for an unforgettable celebration of art and culture.

The event was graced by esteemed personalities, with Dr. Sujata Misra, Director of PGIMER and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, attending as the chief guest on the first day, and Dr. Swarupa Panda, Professor of Paediatrics at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, joining on the second day.

The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp and a soulful rendition of shlokas, setting the tone for the festivities. Principal Anuradha Rakshit warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and introduced the dignitaries to the audience.

The event featured a range of performances that captivated the crowd, including Sursangam, an orchestra blending English, Odia, and Hindi tunes, and a medley of lively songs. Dance dramas like Sri Mandira and Bal Ganesha impressed the audience with their storytelling, while Nrityanjali, a fusion of folk dances, brought the stage to life. Kisaan Desh ki Aan paid tribute to the hard work of farmers, and Mobile Mania sparked important conversations about the dangers of mobile addiction. The evening concluded on a high note with Jalsa, a vibrant celebration of India’s diverse festivals.

In her speech, Pro Vice Chairperson Mala Mishra emphasized the growing concerns of mobile phone addiction, urging parents to be more involved in nurturing their children’s overall well-being and development.

Kalapreet 2024 was not just a showcase of talent but also a platform for meaningful dialogue, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who attended. It was a true reflection of DPS Kalinga’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness and holistic education.
