Odisha Introduces Two-Year B.Ed Course to Enhance Teacher Education

14th March 2025: In a major update, Odisha’s Higher Education Minister, SuryaBanshi Suraj, announced that the B.Ed course will now be completed in two years, down from the previous three-year duration. This change aims to streamline teacher education in the state.

Additionally, the new Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) will be a four-year course, replacing the earlier five-year structure. Eight teacher training institutes have already signed MOUs with local colleges to implement these reforms, making teacher education more efficient and accessible for students.
