Odisha to Get 8 New Kendriya Vidyalayas as Part of Nationwide Expansion

7th December 2024: In a significant move to enhance education across India, the Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), with 8 of them earmarked for Odisha. This initiative aims to improve educational access and provide quality schooling for students in various parts of the country. The new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be spread across different regions, ensuring that students, especially in remote areas, benefit from a high standard of education. The new KVs will be located in key regions across the state, including Kuchinda (Sambalpur), Talcher and Athmallik (Angul), Kamakshanagar (Dhenkanal), ITBP Khordha (Khordha), Jaypur (Koraput), and Railway Titlagad and Patanagada (Balangir).

The approval of these schools reflects the government’s commitment to improving education infrastructure and making quality learning opportunities available to more children.
