Young Odisha fan pedals across states to meet Kannada superstar; his extraordinary journey goes viral on social media
Bengaluru, August 11 (UDN): For most fans, meeting their favourite actor may remain a distant dream. But for Deepak Kumar from Odisha, that dream became a road trip—on two wheels.
Deepak reportedly cycled nearly 1,500 kilometres from Odisha to Bengaluru with one goal: to meet Kannada superstar Yash, popularly known as ‘Rocking Star’ and celebrated for his portrayal of Rocky Bhai in the KGF franchise.
After days of riding across states, the young fan finally got the moment he had been waiting for. Images and videos circulating on social media show Deepak meeting Yash and presenting gifts to the actor.
The meeting has since attracted widespread attention online, turning Deepak’s unusual fan journey into a viral story.
A Dream Fueled by Determination
With limited resources but immense enthusiasm, Deepak chose a bicycle for his journey. Reports suggest that the approximately 1,500-km ride took around 10 to 12 days.
For him, the physical challenges of the journey appeared secondary to the possibility of meeting his favourite star in person.
The videos documenting his trip show the different stages of his journey and the determination that kept him moving towards Bengaluru.
Not His First Celebrity Mission
Deepak has previously undertaken similar cycling expeditions in pursuit of his sporting idol, Hardik Pandya.
According to reports, he once cycled more than 1,300 kilometres over around 12 days to meet the Indian cricketer. His journey attracted attention on social media and eventually led to an opportunity to meet Pandya.
His latest expedition to Bengaluru has now added Yash to his list of celebrity encounters.
Another Odisha Fan Chasing Celebrity Dreams
Deepak is not the only young fan from Odisha turning admiration into long-distance cycling adventures.
Amit Kumar, from Mayurbhanj district, recently undertook a cycling journey towards Chennai with the hope of meeting actor Thalapathy Vijay. Although the much-awaited meeting did not materialise, Amit continued his celebrity quest.
He is now reportedly planning another long-distance bicycle journey, this time towards Mumbai, with the aim of meeting actor couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh.
Fandom Draws Both Praise and Questions
The extraordinary journeys have generated mixed reactions online. Many social media users have praised the youngsters for their determination, physical endurance and willingness to pursue their dreams despite limited resources.
Others, however, have questioned whether such efforts could be better directed towards education, employment or community-oriented activities.
Whatever the debate, the journeys of Deepak and Amit have certainly demonstrated the extraordinary lengths to which some fans are willing to go for a moment with their idols.
For Deepak, however, the long ride to Bengaluru appears to have been worth every kilometre—he finally met the star he had been pedalling towards.
