Bhubaneswar, July 23 (UDN): The Odisha Health Department has assured citizens that there is no alarming COVID-19 situation in the state, with the currently reported cases remaining mild and comparable to seasonal influenza.
Director of Public Health Dr Rabindranath Mishra said there is no need for panic as COVID-19 cases being reported at present are not showing signs of a major outbreak. He stated that the disease is currently behaving similar to common influenza and that health authorities are closely monitoring developments.
The department informed that a few COVID-19 cases have been detected in Ganjam district. At present, two patients are under home isolation, while one patient is receiving hospital care. All affected individuals are reported to be stable and under medical observation.
The Health Department said it is following the latest guidelines and protocols issued by the Government of India and maintaining surveillance to ensure timely response to any change in the situation.
Officials have also assured that necessary monitoring and precautionary measures are in place, particularly following reports of increased cases in neighbouring states.
Health authorities have urged people to remain alert, follow basic preventive practices, and avoid unnecessary concern as the overall COVID-19 situation in Odisha remains under control.
