Nabarangpur: Sept 22 [UDN}:The district-level selection process for the State-Level School Games Taekwondo Championship 2026-27 has been successfully completed in Nabarangpur district. Students from various schools across the district participated enthusiastically in the selection trials and showcased their skills and competitive spirit.
Following tough competition and impressive performances, a total of 13 boys and girls have been selected to represent Nabarangpur district at the state-level Taekwondo championship.
The selected students from R.C.D. High School, Utkal Balashram Majhiguda/Sandiguda, PM Shri Sandiguda High School and Javaguda School have left for Keonjhar today to participate in the state-level competition.
The district’s efforts to identify and nurture sporting talent have received considerable support from District Education Officer (DEO) Chhatrapati Sahu. His direct involvement and cooperation in promoting young athletes and providing them opportunities to compete at the state and national levels have been appreciated. The continued encouragement from the district education department has also helped emerging talents, particularly from rural areas, get platforms to showcase their abilities.
The selection of the 13 players is being viewed as an encouraging development for sports in Nabarangpur. Members of the district education department, including Prabhat Pattnaik, Puravi Parida, Jageswar Sabar and Minati Mahanta, along with District Sports Association member Manaj Pattnaik, Taekwondo Association representatives Harish Behera, Basanta Durga and Himanshu Pattnaik, and local sports enthusiasts, extended their congratulations and best wishes to the selected players.
They wished the young athletes success in the upcoming state-level championship and expressed hope that the players would put up strong performances and bring recognition to Nabarangpur district through their achievements.
