All Anganwadi Centres Set to Have Dedicated Management Committees, New Initiative Aims to Enhance Childcare, Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Services

Bhubaneswar,  July 22 UDN}:  The Odisha government has decided to establish Anganwadi Management Committees at all Anganwadi centres across the state. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the management and functioning of Anganwadi centres and ensuring better delivery of essential services to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.

The proposed committees are expected to play an important role in monitoring the day-to-day activities of Anganwadi centres, improving community participation, and ensuring that beneficiaries receive the services and support they are entitled to under various government programmes. The committees will also help facilitate greater coordination among Anganwadi workers, local communities, parents, and concerned government departments.

The formation of Anganwadi Management Committees is being viewed as an important step towards improving the quality of early childhood care, nutrition, health services, and pre-school education provided through Anganwadi centres. By involving members of the local community in the management and supervision process, the government aims to make these centres more effective, accountable, and responsive to the needs of beneficiaries.

The initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots-level participation and contribute to the overall improvement of Anganwadi services throughout Odisha.
