Ambaguda, 25th Oct 2025: The Shyamakali Puja was celebrated with grandeur in Ambaguda and Bangalibada. The rituals began late on Monday night at Nitikantra, and the goddess gave darshan to devotees early in the morning. In Bangalibada, the visarjan (immersion) ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, while in Ambaguda it will take place on the 25th of this month.
The puja in Bangalibada is organized by the Shyamakali Puja Committee, and around 80 families from the surrounding area have been conducting this puja for the past 25 years. The worship started late Monday night and concluded early Tuesday morning. Holy water was collected from the river in a kalash (sacred pot) for the rituals.
Devotees were offered prasad by the committee after the puja. In Ambaguda, the Shyamakali Puja has been celebrated for 33 years. Following the schedule, the kalash procession started at 10:30 PM from Sindhigam and reached the puja mandap (ceremonial pavilion) around 12 midnight. The puja continued until 5:30 AM. Devotees had the opportunity to see the goddess that morning.
The puja rituals will continue until the 25th. Every day, devotees will offer khechudi bhog (a type of ceremonial food) to the goddess, and on Saturday, special offerings will be made as per tradition, according to the committee.
