As Part of the Programme Held in Narsinghpur, 260 Anganwadi Workers Were Provided Mobile Phones to Strengthen Service Delivery and Improve Communication at the Community Level.

Narsinghpur:July 8 {UDN}:The “Bikashara Dhara Odisha Sara” (Development Across Odisha) program was celebrated at the Narsinghpur Block office to mark the completion of two years of the BJP government. Organized jointly by the Block Women and Child Development Department and the Mission Shakti Department, the event highlighted the state’s development initiatives and welfare achievements.

MLA Bijay Kumar Dalabehera attended as the chief guest, while BDO Pralaya Manand Satpathy was the guest of honour. CDPO Kalyani Tripathy coordinated the programme. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that Odisha’s Anganwadi movement, which began in Sundargarh in 1975, has completed over five decades and continues to play a crucial role in delivering government welfare schemes to the grassroots. He also highlighted several development works undertaken in the last two years.

During the event, officials shared details of various welfare schemes implemented in Narsinghpur Block. Around 40,000 women have been enrolled under the Subhadra Yojana, with beneficiaries already receiving financial assistance in multiple instalments. Under the Mamata Scheme, 2,708 women received the first instalment, while 5,521 beneficiaries received the second instalment. Additionally, 50 Sakhi Anganwadi centres have been constructed, seven beneficiaries have been assisted under the Chief Minister’s Kanyadan Scheme, and 14,778 women have become Lakhpati Didis through self-help group initiatives.
CDPO Kalyani Tripathy further informed that 1,706 women’s self-help groups received financial assistance of ₹30,000 each, while 3,928 SHGs have been linked with banks to strengthen financial inclusion. On the occasion, the MLA distributed free mobile phones to 270 Anganwadi workers and presented sarees to MBKs, CRPs, Krushi Mitras, Prani Mitras, and Bank Mitras. The programme was successfully managed with the support of officials and staff, including Snehalata Puhan, Asita Bala Sahu, Shubhalaxmi Sahu, Gurubari Hembram, Sabitri Dehuri, Sabita Mishra, Kadambini Behera, Soumya Ranjan Sethi, Manmohan Singh, Shobharani Rana, Monalisa Sahu, and Surendra Panda.
