Bhubaneswar, July 20 [UDN}: The weather authorities have issued a precautionary alert warning of severe storms and widespread rainfall over the next 24 hours. Residents have been advised to remain vigilant as adverse weather conditions, including strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and intense rain, are likely to affect several regions. The warning emphasizes the possibility of disruptions to transportation, power supply, and normal daily activities due to the inclement weather.
According to the forecast, the hilly states are expected to experience heavy to extremely heavy rainfall during this period. Continuous downpours may lead to flash floods, landslides, overflowing rivers and streams, waterlogging, and road blockages in vulnerable areas. Authorities have urged people living in landslide-prone and low-lying regions to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow the instructions issued by local administrations and disaster management agencies.
Citizens are also advised to stay updated with official weather bulletins, secure loose outdoor objects, and take all necessary safety precautions until the weather conditions improve. Emergency response teams have been kept on alert to deal with any situation arising from the severe weather.
