Bhubaneswar, April 21: In Bhubaneswar, the School and Mass Education Department has issued guidelines regarding duplicate School Leaving Certificates (SLC).
If a student’s original SLC is lost or damaged, they can now obtain a duplicate copy. However, the student must provide valid proof and justification.
📌 Key Guidelines
Students can apply for a duplicate SLC if the original certificate is lost, stolen, or damaged.
The school headmaster can issue the duplicate certificate after obtaining approval from the District Education Officer (DEO).
Students must provide proper proof to establish the authenticity of their claim.
📄 Required Proof
If the certificate is lost or stolen → Submit a copy of the FIR from the police station.
If it is damaged → Provide supporting evidence of damage.
If destroyed due to fire, rain, cyclone, or flood → Relevant proof must be submitted.
⚠️ Important Rule
If the original SLC has already been used for admission or official purposes, a second application for a duplicate will not be accepted.
The new guidelines aim to simplify the process for students while ensuring proper verification to prevent misuse.
