Bairipiguda, July 4 {UDN}: An anti-drug awareness programme under the “Drug-Free Odisha” initiative was organized by Bairipiguda Police Station.
The programme was conducted within the police station premises with the participation of police personnel, members of voluntary organizations, and representatives from various schools. Awareness activities were also carried out in different educational institutions. The objective of the campaign was to ensure that students and the youth stay away from drug addiction.
According to the Officer-in-Charge of the police station, Damburudhar Batria, the awareness programme focused on educating participants about how drug abuse can negatively affect individuals, society, and the environment. Students were administered a pledge as part of the campaign, and detailed discussions were held on the harmful impacts of various types of intoxicants.
The programme was attended by IIC Dambaru Dhar Batria, SI Komalakanta Barik, Sandip Behera, and other staff members.
