Bhubaneswar, March 18: The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced a two-day nationwide strike from midnight on March 23 to March 25. The strike, involving 37,000 bank employees across 6,000 branches, is in response to various demands, including improved working conditions and salary adjustments.
Supported by major banking unions like AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, and BEFI, the strike aims to address staff shortages and enhance job security in national and regional banks. Union leaders have also called for reforms in the Gratuity Act and tax exemptions for employee welfare.
Banking services are expected to be disrupted on March 24 and 25, affecting customers’ access to services during this period.
