Bhubaneswar Announces Traffic Restrictions Ahead of Vice President’s Visit

Bhubaneswar, July 8 (UDN): The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate has issued a traffic advisory ahead of Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan’s visit to Bhubaneswar on July 9, announcing temporary restrictions on several key routes to ensure smooth movement of the VIP convoy and effective traffic management.

The restrictions will be implemented as part of the security arrangements for the Vice President’s scheduled programmes in the city. Commuters have been advised to avoid the affected routes during the specified time periods and take alternative roads to prevent inconvenience.

As per the advisory, traffic movement will be regulated along important routes connecting Biju Patnaik International Airport, Lok Bhavan, Jaydev Vihar, NH-16, Khordha Bypass and NISER during the movement of the convoy.

The restrictions will remain in force in different phases from 10:25 am to 10:45 am, 12:25 pm to 12:40 pm, 1:40 pm to 2:30 pm, and 3:55 pm to 5:25 pm on Thursday.

Several major intersections, including Airport Square, Hospital Square, AG Square, Lok Bhavan Square, Gopabandhu Square, OUAT Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Sastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar, NH-16, Khordha Bypass service road, Carmel School Square, Kholadwar Square, Padanpur Square and NISER, will come under traffic regulation during the scheduled periods.

The Commissionerate Police has requested commuters to plan their journeys in advance, keep additional travel time and follow instructions from traffic personnel deployed across the city.

The restrictions are temporary and aimed at ensuring the safe movement of the Vice President while maintaining normal traffic flow. Emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire services, will be allowed to operate without disruption.

Police officials have appealed to citizens to cooperate with the arrangements and follow the advisory for hassle-free travel during the visit.
