Bhubaneswar, Aug 1 (UDN): A major burglary incident in Odisha’s capital city has led to a police investigation after unidentified miscreants allegedly stole valuables worth several crores from a residence in the Laxmisagar area.
The incident occurred while the family was away from home. According to preliminary information, the burglars allegedly broke into the house and escaped with gold and diamond jewellery, luxury watches, bags, and around ₹5 lakh in cash.
The theft came to light after the family returned and found the house ransacked. The miscreants allegedly disabled security equipment before carrying out the robbery, indicating that the crime may have been carefully planned.
Following the complaint, Laxmisagar Police reached the spot and launched an investigation. A forensic team is examining evidence from the site, while CCTV footage from nearby areas is being analysed to identify those involved.
Police are working to trace the suspects and recover the stolen valuables as the investigation continues.
