KOLNARA,Sept 19 [UDN}:: A block-level seminar on the “Prospects and Challenges of Indian Energy Resources 2047” was organised at Jagadamba Government Higher Secondary School in Kolnara, with school principal Jyotsnarani Behera presiding over the programme.
The seminar focused on the opportunities and challenges associated with energy resources and their importance in shaping the future of India. The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students about the judicious use, conservation and sustainable management of energy resources for the country’s future.
Senior citizen Jagannath Panda attended the event as the chief guest. Headmaster of Matikana Government High School Deepak Behera and Headmaster of Penta Government High School Manoj Kumar Goud were among the distinguished guests.
Students from eight schools across the block participated in the programme and expressed their views on a range of issues related to the future of energy resources. They discussed the growing importance of renewable energy, the need for energy conservation, sustainable energy development and the relationship between energy use and environmental protection.
The participants highlighted the need to promote greater awareness about renewable sources of energy and responsible consumption among the younger generation. The discussions also underlined the importance of adopting sustainable practices to meet the country’s future energy requirements while protecting the environment.
In the competition held as part of the seminar, Bandana Behera, a student of Jagadamba Government Higher Secondary School, secured the first position. She was subsequently selected to represent the block at the district-level competition.
Teachers Debabrata Padhi, Gayatri Das, Anil Padhi, Bikesh Nayak, Dhirendra Melka, Anita Sahu and Kshira Sagar Behera were present during the programme.
Science teachers Sarita Panda, Jani Sudarshan, Satyaprakash Das, Santosh Swain and Sheikh Mallik extended their cooperation in conducting the event. Dhananjay Bagarti delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests.
The seminar provided students with an opportunity to discuss India’s future energy needs and encouraged them to understand the importance of energy conservation, renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
