Kosagumuda, Aug 11 [UDN}:A block-level quiz competition on HIV/AIDS awareness was held today, Saturday, in Kosagumuda Block with the objective of creating awareness among students about HIV/AIDS. A total of 15 students from various schools across the block participated in the competition.
The programme was organised under the chairmanship of Mr. Pabitra Haldar, Principal of Kosagumuda Higher Secondary School. Mr. Bidhan Chandra Rout, CRCC of Kosagumuda, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Nalinikanta Patra, Headmaster of Majhidhanua High School, joined as the Chief Speaker. They provided the participating students with valuable information about HIV/AIDS, including its causes, prevention, precautions and the importance of awareness.
Mr. Shravan Kumar Debata, Block Coordinator of the Junior Red Cross, conducted the proceedings of the programme.
In the quiz competition, Gudu Bhatra, a student of Majhidhanua High School, secured first position. Mahendra Harijan, a student of Ekori High School, secured second position, while Khageswari Harijan, a student of Sahadeb High School, Panduguda, secured third position.
The three successful students will represent Kosagumuda Block in the upcoming district-level HIV/AIDS quiz competition.
The programme proved highly effective in enhancing students’ knowledge and awareness about HIV/AIDS. It also provided an important platform for students to learn about HIV/AIDS prevention, dispel misconceptions and promote accurate understanding of the disease.
