Kotpad, April 21: On the occasion of Odi2a 2Pakhya, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the Kotpad Community Health Centre by the district health department.
The camp was inaugurated by Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, in the presence of MP representative Rameshwar Jena and under the supervision of Medical Officer Dr. Biswajit Mallik. The program began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A total of 53 units of blood were collected during the camp.
Among those present were Kotpad Chairman M. Shankar Rao, Additional Tahsildar Parshuram Bhatra, EO Kamalesh Mohanty, ward members Salma Begum and Syed Yusuf, along with several intellectuals and local dignitaries.
The event saw active participation and support from health officials, pharmacist Suryakant Padhi, MPHW staff, PHO members, ASHA workers, and other health centre employees. Social worker Tulsi Nayak, Bharat Media Association President Ajay Kumar Mishra, Press Club President Pankaj Patra, and members of various organizations also extended full cooperation.
Several individuals, including Kamalesh Mohanty, Parshuram Bhatra, fire service personnel, Ajay Kumar Mishra, Sasmita Mishra, Sudhir Baral, Pintu Pattnaik, and Tankeswar Tripathy, voluntarily donated blood.
The participation of students in blood donation was particularly appreciated and widely praised as a commendable initiative.
A special highlight of the camp was a husband and wife donating blood together voluntarily, which received appreciation and congratulations from the intellectual community.
Additionally, MPHW staff members Narasimha Sahu, Prakash Adhikari, Durga Khuntia, and Parmananda Swain, along with other staff, played a significant role in the successful organization of the camp.
