Baleshwar, July 13 (UDN): Security was heightened at the Baleshwar court complex after a bomb threat email, reportedly written in Tamil, was received at the office of the District and Sessions Judge on Monday afternoon.
The threatening message warning of a possible explosion led to panic among lawyers, court staff, and visitors. Court proceedings were temporarily disrupted as authorities evacuated areas of the premises as a precautionary measure.
Police immediately secured the court complex and launched a detailed search operation with the help of sniffer dogs and bomb disposal teams. Entry into the premises was restricted during the security checks as officials inspected the area for any suspicious objects.
The incident comes after similar bomb threat reports from courts in Anugul and Sambalpur, prompting authorities to examine possible links between the cases.
A detailed investigation has been initiated to trace the source of the email and identify those responsible. Security arrangements have been strengthened, with police maintaining a presence at the court premises to ensure safety.
Authorities have assured that all necessary precautionary measures are being taken to protect court officials, staff, and visitors while the investigation continues.
