Subarnapur, July 28 UDN}: District Collector is seen sitting in the Collectorate office and overseeing administrative activities. However, a unique exception was witnessed in Subarnapur district, where the District Collector himself took on the role of a teacher and taught primary school teachers.
A five-day English language teaching training camp was held at Sahara Trust High School in Subarnapur from July 21 to July 25, 2026. A total of 57 primary school teachers, both male and female, from six blocks of the district participated in the training programme. Sponsored by the State Institute of Language Teaching, Bhubaneswar, the programme was conducted by trainers Shashibhushan Hota, Dr. Lalindra Amat, Sachindra Patel and Kalicharan Dubey.
On the fourth day of the programme, Subarnapur District Collector Dr. Nriparaj Sahu made a surprise visit to the training camp, which came as a pleasant surprise to everyone present. He did not limit himself to merely inspecting the programme. Instead, he directly taught the participating teachers for nearly an hour.
During his teaching session, District Collector Dr. Sahu emphasised the importance of the English language. He highlighted ways in which English could be made easier, simpler and more understandable for students in government school classrooms. As the training programme was based on the key features of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, he also provided valuable and constructive insights into new teaching strategies in line with the policy.
The teachers who attended the programme highly appreciated the District Collector’s positive and unique initiative. His interaction with them generated a new sense of enthusiasm and motivation among the teachers. The District Collector also expressed his satisfaction with the successful implementation and management of the programme.
The entire programme was smoothly coordinated by Headmaster Gatikrishna Mishra. Following the instructions of the District Education Officer, the Block Education Officers had selected and deputed teachers to participate in the training camp and extended their cooperation to ensure the successful completion of the programme.
