Bhubaneswar, Oct 1 [UDN}:Senior 2002-batch Odisha-cadre IPS officer Amitendra Nath Sinha has been appointed as an Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). His appointment will remain effective until July 10, 2028.
Sinha joined the Indian Police Service on September 2, 2002, and has completed nearly 24 years of service. He is originally from Bihar.
Before proceeding on central deputation, Sinha served in the Odisha Police CID-Crime Branch as Inspector General. In June 2023, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs assigned him as an Inspector General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
His appointment to the BSF IG post marks another significant responsibility in his career in the central armed police forces.
