Bhubaneswar, Aug 14 [UDN}:The Central Government has introduced a new initiative under which eligible households can receive the benefit of up to 300 units of free electricity every month. Along with free electricity, beneficiaries may also receive government subsidy support to help reduce their household electricity expenses.
The scheme is aimed at encouraging households to adopt rooftop solar power and generate their own electricity. Through this initiative, families can install solar panels on the roofs of their homes and use the electricity generated for their daily requirements. Any surplus electricity generated can potentially be supplied to the power grid, subject to the applicable rules and arrangements.
Under the scheme, eligible households can receive financial assistance for installing rooftop solar systems. The amount of subsidy depends on the capacity of the solar system installed and the applicable government guidelines. Once the system becomes operational, households can significantly reduce their monthly electricity bills, and eligible consumers may effectively get the benefit of electricity consumption of up to 300 units without paying the corresponding electricity charges.
How to Avail the Benefit
Interested households need to apply through the official government portal for the rooftop solar scheme. Applicants generally need to provide details such as their electricity consumer information, mobile number and other required documents. After submitting the application, the household can select an eligible registered solar vendor for installation.
Once the rooftop solar system is installed and approved, the subsidy is provided according to the applicable scheme guidelines. The electricity generated by the solar panels can then be used by the household to meet its daily power requirements.
The initiative is expected to provide multiple benefits, including lower electricity bills, greater use of renewable energy, reduced dependence on conventional electricity sources and additional savings for households.
However, the exact subsidy amount, eligibility conditions, installation capacity and benefit of 300 units may vary according to the applicable government rules. Therefore, people should verify the latest details and eligibility requirements on the official government portal before applying and should avoid relying on unofficial websites or social-media claims.
