CM Majhi Presents Odisha’s Progress in Education, Healthcare and Digital Governance

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, June 12: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the state’s comprehensive human development agenda at the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s ongoing investments in education, skill development, healthcare, wellness, sports, and technology-driven governance as key pillars of the state’s vision for inclusive and sustainable growth. He emphasized that Odisha is playing a leading role in advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of Purvodaya, aimed at transforming eastern India into a major engine of national development.

Majhi noted that Odisha recorded an economic growth rate of 7.9 percent during 2025-26 while maintaining fiscal discipline within prescribed limits. He also highlighted the state’s top ranking in NITI Aayog’s Fiscal Health Index 2026, reflecting strong financial management and governance practices.

Underscoring the theme of Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat, the Chief Minister stated that long-term progress depends on empowering people through quality education, healthcare, nutrition, and employment opportunities. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to building a prosperous and inclusive society through targeted investments in human capital.

The Chief Minister outlined several initiatives aimed at strengthening early childhood development, foundational learning, and educational outcomes. He also highlighted Odisha’s plans to leverage Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies to enhance personalized learning, monitor developmental progress, and improve public service delivery.

In the areas of skilling and higher education, Odisha is expanding industry-linked training, upgrading technical institutions, strengthening apprenticeship opportunities, and fostering partnerships between academia and industry to meet evolving workforce demands. The state is also promoting innovation and emerging technologies to prepare youth for future employment opportunities.

Majhi further showcased initiatives in healthcare, agriculture, sports infrastructure, and digital governance, emphasizing the use of technology to improve accessibility, efficiency, and citizen-centric service delivery.

Reaffirming Odisha’s commitment to the goals of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Odisha, the Chief Minister said the state will continue to focus on inclusive growth, economic resilience, and human development to create sustainable opportunities for all sections of society.
