Bhubaneswar, July 29 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday felicitated Indian Idol Season 16 winner Jyotirmayee Nayak for bringing laurels to the State and announced a cash reward of ₹5 lakh in recognition of her outstanding achievement on the national stage.
Jyotirmayee met the Chief Minister at his official residence in Bhubaneswar and presented her Indian Idol 16 winner’s trophy. During the interaction, she shared her inspiring journey from a budding singer to clinching the coveted title, recounting the years of perseverance, rigorous training and unwavering determination behind her success.
Congratulating the young singer, Majhi said her victory has made every Odia proud and showcased Odisha’s rich musical talent before the nation. He expressed hope that her achievement would motivate aspiring singers across the State to pursue their dreams with dedication and confidence.
Announcing a cash incentive of ₹5 lakh, the Chief Minister said the honour was a token of appreciation for Jyotirmayee’s exceptional accomplishment and her contribution to enhancing Odisha’s image at the national level.
Beyond her success in music, Majhi also lauded Jyotirmayee for her humanitarian efforts through music therapy. He praised her initiative of visiting cancer hospitals and using music to bring emotional comfort and hope to patients undergoing treatment.
Describing her as a perfect blend of talent, compassion and social responsibility, the Chief Minister called Jyotirmayee a “youth icon” for Odisha and the country. He said her commitment to using music as a tool for healing reflects the positive role young achievers can play in society.
